Hospitality / Concept design
Tanafus
A slower rhythm. A richer stay.
A lodge concept in Siwa that connects desert architecture, wellness, local culture and the night sky with a commercial model extending beyond accommodation.THE THINKING
A slower rhythm. A richer stay.
The opportunity
Imagine a distinctive lodge with a reason to stay beyond the room: a place where the landscape informs the architecture, the daily rituals and the experiences guests take away. Define how those experiences could become a connected hospitality business.
The idea
Connect intimate places to retreat with shared places to gather. Glass-roofed rooms open to the stars; wellness, dining and cultural spaces give the stay a rhythm from morning to night. A complementary revenue-stream strategy explores how day visitors, programmes, products and ongoing membership could extend the concept beyond an overnight stay.

THE COMMERCIAL THINKING
A hospitality concept. A wider commercial model.
Alongside lodge stays, the strategy proposed ten complementary streams rooted in the same Siwa experience. Each connects a guest need with a distinct offering, from an afternoon visit to products and programmes enjoyed after departure.
Signature wellness products
Spa products inspired by Siwan salt, mud, olive oil and desert herbs, offered through the lodge, boutique and online.
Day passes and packages
Spa, thermal circuit and dining experiences for visitors who are not staying overnight.
Workshops and retreats
Facilitated programmes in yoga, meditation, breathwork, crafts and cooking.
Destination weddings and private events
The courtyard and stargazing platform as settings for intimate celebrations, launches and offsites.
Adventure tours
Bookable desert excursions, camel treks, cycling and stargazing experiences with local guides.
Farm-to-table restaurant
Reservation-led dining that welcomes outside guests as well as lodge residents.
Cooking school and chef’s table
Hands-on culinary experiences built around farm produce and Siwan recipes.
Branded packaged foods
Dates, olives, herbal salts and other local foods as a retail extension of the lodge.
Membership and loyalty programmes
Wellness club access, product subscriptions and invitations designed to continue the relationship.
Digital and media
Online retreat classes and branded storytelling that carry the experience beyond the destination.
